Life Waits for No (Wo)man!

As many of you know, I love reading blogs - blogs about all different topics. I follow this one blog written by an "internet friend" and her hubs, and her entry today really hit home and got my mind going. Here's a brief excerpt from this entry:

"But, I feel like people are always waiting for opportunities to do things – waiting for nicer weather, more money, more time, etc. “I’ll do that when….”, or, “I can’t wait until…” But, while we’re doing all of this waiting, the world keeps going! Every time the sun sets, it takes with it our opportunities for that day. We cannot get them back"

I couldn't have said that better!! How true is this? How many times have YOU done this? "I really want to lose weight and be healthier, but I'll wait until New Year". "I really want to visit such and such a place, but I'll wait until so and so want to come with me." "I really want to take my child to the park today, but work stands in the way." I know this last one all too well. It's a daily struggle for me to fit in all of the things I want to do that day and in life in general. More times than not, I'm too tired, or too lazy to take Brandon to the park, or to the pool, or really anywhere other than home and the store. This entry makes me take a step back, and realize - my little boy will NOT be little forever. In fact, I won't even BE HERE forever to watch him live his life in its entirety. I (and we in general) need to find the time NOW to do all of these things we want to do. Life isn't promised to anyone. Life is a gift, and it's up to us to determine what to do with this gift!

So, thank you Patricia, for putting life into perspective for me today! I highly suggest this blog to anyone who follows blogs - http://alifeunexpected-jtm.blogspot.com/ It's truly a touching blog written by a fun, caring and real couple (that I have yet to meet, but will one day!)

With that said, Happy 5 Months to my baby girl, Carys! Proof that life truly does move too quickly!! Mommy and Daddy love you up to heaven (and back!)

And of course, I cannot forget - 150 days until our Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Dream with our amazing friends, Steph and Amy!!! Here's to crossing one thing off my infinite list of life's to do's!!

Know What Really Grinds My Gears?!

People in general, but...people who actually SLOW DOWN in the effing cross walk. I realize and appreciate the fact that you have no where to go anytime soon, however I FREAKIN' DO. Clearly, this did happen to me today, and clearly I wanted to run the old hag off the road. Normally, I feel for my elderly population, and wouldn't be mean. However, she was practically RUNNING down the sidewalk to the crosswalk like she was Jackie Joyner, and at first glance of my car, abruptly stopped and turtle walked across the road. Sorry, just had to get that vent off my chest! Happy Tuesday everyone! ;)

Someone's Pregnant!

And it AIN'T me (thank god!). I have a really good friend of mine who told me she's pregnant. I am over the moon for her, and I.CAN'T.FREAKIN'.WAIT. She's almost 12 weeks (on Friday) but hasn't come out to the world yet, so I cannot say anything to anyone yet, and it's driving me off the walls! Hence, my "anonymous pregnancy post" on here! I can only imagine how hard it is for YOU (yes - she does read my blog from time to time). So - here's my congratulations post, dedicated to you. Check back in a few weeks, and her name (and possibly picture) will be revealed!! :)

Silence IS a Virtue!

Terrell took the kids to see their MiMi today since she was in from Maryland. I haven't had such a good day in so long! I forgot what silence sounded like!! I got to get a Brazilian wax (yup, I FINALLY did it!), go to Target (the store that is my crack. I WILL max out my credit cards in that store one day!), Bed Bath and Beyond to get a friend a shower gift, got my nails done (toes AND fingers) and just RELAXED. A feeling I haven't felt for 4.5 months! Cheers to terrell for taking them today!!!!

Speaking of Brazilian waxes, if you've ever thought of getting one...DO IT! It's so worth it, and really wasn't too bad pain wise! I won't go into details - I'm sure no one wants the vision of Shamu on a waxing table...but let's just say I will be doing it every 4 weeks from now on!!!!

Just had to share my amazing day (which most people would find boring!). once you have children, your ideas of fun are way skewed! I'm becoming my...gasp...MOM!

Houston, we have teeth!

Carys sprouted her first two teeth today! Despite it looking very painful, and her gums being really red and swollen, she's still happy go lucky baby!!! :) Let's just hope early teeth doesn't meant early everything else! I don't know if I can deal with 2 walking children in the near future!!!

I'm sure I'm likely the only one who cares about this milestone, but...I figured I'd let the internet world know anyway!! I'll post some pictures later in the week when they're fully in!!

PS: ONLY 160 DAYS UNTIL OUR CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the little things...

"It's the little things in life that matter." This saying is so true. Of all the things in life that make me happy, it ALWAYS the little things (and little people) that make me the happiest. Brandon's kisses melt my heart. Carys' coos have me whipped. How can I resist a hug from my little man when I hear in his little kid voice, "I wuv you so much, Mommy...." or "what's wrong sweetheart, hunny?" (clearly he listens to what I say entirely too much!!) My children own me! It will always be these things that make my clock tick. Tonight, Brandon and I are alone, and we watched The Wizard of Oz, and Care Bears the Movie. I had more fun tonight than I have had in a long time! Lame? maybe, but true...and I'm okay with that!

With that said, I can't say that the big things in life DON'T make me happy! Two days ago I booked a cruise with my hubby, kids and two of my nearest and dearest friends, steph and amie, and their hubbies! I CANNOT WAIT!

CARNIVAL DREAM, WESTERN CARRIBBEAN, JANUARY 8TH!!!!

How will I ever get Brandon off this boat with these rediculous slides?? (well, really i'm more worried about dragging my child husband away!!)

Movie and a drink (or 10) EVERYNIGHT? I will definitely be able to get used to that!

I'm so excited to bring Brandon on this cruise now that he's at a fun age...and I'm SO excited to be going with our friends! This will be a vacation to remember forever!!! 162 days from today! (yup, i'm counting...bite me!)

It's been 1 month, and 20 days!

...and there's no doubt that I'm horrible at this blogging thing. I highly even doubt anyone is still following (or really that anyone was following in the first place). But, it's still therapeutic to let it all out sometimes, so I will continue to come here and let'er rip! I'll try, really I will try to come more often, but with a 2.5 year old (as of yesterday) and a 3.5 month old, it is not an easy task!

So today, before going to work, I packed the kids up and brought them to NYC. We went to a company called "Expecting Models" because they had called about Brandon and wanted to meet him. We went with our cutest outfits on (well not me, but the kids!) and they loved him. They also asked if I would be interested in modeling Carys as well, since they were sure that she'd get tons of jobs. We'll see! I decided to have them represent the kids, and we'll go from there!

Honestly, nothing else is new. I'm sure there are MANY things that I have been "Peevin'" about lately, but I just can't remember, and haven't had time to post them. I have been struggling with trying to begin a diet, or at least eating better. I need to lose weight for myself, and I really want to feel better and more energetic for the kids. It's just so hard when week after week, I have fun activities and parties, etc planned. Who wants to go to a wedding and not drink and eat yummy food? Who goes down the shore and DOESN'T want to get a midway cheese steak!? Summer is just a horrible dieting season for me, and it's beginning to show! Hopefully god will grant me the will power to begin after the 4th of July!

All else is calm on the Whitehead front, but as soon as I have something good and interesting to post....I'll be back! :)
